In October-November 2011 Weta was approached and asked to offer up some ideas for Doug Liman's Edge of Tomorrow. The Film adaptation of the Manga All You Need Is Kill.

A group of us covered a range of briefs, some elements in these pieces are by Stu Thomas and Christian Pearce. Hopefully they will post their own pieces and you can try to spot the bits I politely borrowed :).

I tried to get a really harsh D-Day landings feel into the very 1st mood piece I did, I even shaped the drop-ships a bit like the landing craft from WWII.
I was a little off the mark with how dark this one looked, the client came back asking for blue skies and a less wrecked landscape like the images down below.



The Film turned out pretty good too, which is always a bonus. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
