In October-November 2011 Weta was approached and asked to offer up some ideas for Doug Liman's Edge of Tomorrow. The Film adaptation of the Manga All You Need Is Kill.

A group of us covered a range of briefs, some elements in these pieces are by Stu Thomas and Christian Pearce. Hopefully they will post their own pieces and you can try to spot the bits I politely borrowed :).

I tried to get a really harsh D-Day landings feel into the very 1st mood piece I did, I even shaped the drop-ships a bit like the landing craft from WWII.

I was a little off the mark with how dark this one looked, the client came back asking for blue skies and a less wrecked landscape like the images down below.

The Film turned out pretty good too, which is always a bonus. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Check out the recent Pitch video if you haven't already, it is super fresh, the man has vision and skills.

The Leviathan -- Teaser

I worked on the concept for the small Sky Bikes that are used in the teaser. Was fun stuff to do. Check out the slick 3dmodel by Daniel Rath.

In 2009 Weta was approached by a Maori company, in connection with Tourism New Zealand I think. They wanted some paintings, realising some of the Maori Legends. I painted this sequence of Maui fishing up the South Island, pretty awesome Mythology - Read about it here.

A few concepts I did of Bard in 2011, I was asked to go wider on the cultural look of the characters clothing.

Back in 2009 I was tasked with the early development of Goblin Town. It was originally supposed to show a lot more of the culture and living within Goblin Town instead of just the story beats.

This is one piece I did of a feeding hub, showing a survival of the ruthless type pecking order and the security/protection around the food.

There are a couple of Andrew Bakers Goblins chucked in there too.

Basic clay sculpts photographed and worked up in Photoshop.
